Why, Look at the moon!

Tonight was a lovely night. Roland and I had a nice dinner, painted two water paintings on the kitchen floor (thanks Joan!) and colored with crayons upstairs in Roland's room. Even our bath was great: we practiced numbers and letters, Roland didn't eat too many mouthfuls of bubbles and was happy getting in and out of the tub. Afterwards we turned out all the lights in Roland's room, pulled up the blinds and opened the window to admire the lovely full moon. You couldn't have requested a more perfect evening temperature and clearer sky. The moon was lovely, the crickets chirping, and Roland was definitely calmed by such a serene evening. We pulled the soft chair and glider up to the window and just sat quietly taking in the view. After a while he crawled into my lap in the glider, we finished our milk, cuddled up and rocked off to sleep. In the stillness looking at the moon it reminded me of summer in 1993 listening to the Sweet Relief cassette tape (that's how old I am) the song "Why, look at the moon!" by the Waterboys. I've included just a little taste of this simple tune as alas, I was unable to capture a photo of this magical night.
Why, look at that moon
Ain't it grand!
Why, look at that moon
Helps me understand
Why, look at that moon
Inspirator of many a dream
Why, look at that moon
- cue the banjos
