With Brian working out of town Roland and I were lucky enough to receive a gracious invitation to ring in the new year with Michelle and Roland's best bud Connor. I waited to tell Roland where we were going until we got in the car, and sure enough, the entire ride there he asked "Connor's house?" Connor and Rols (who reminded me of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss) played marvelously - as usual - running non-stop till they could barely walk without falling down, and even then busting into fits of laughter about falling down. Here they are laughing like mad men into the cat tower, with poor Cosmo watching from up top. This night marked some first for them: first time Roland jumped with both feet off the ground and the first time Connor jumped off the ottoman. We had a great time visiting with Darcy, Darin and their awesome little man Phillip, who was pretty entranced watching Thing 1 and Thing 2 race around the house. In the end they snuggled up together on the floor to watch some Wonder Pets and Little Einsteins and Ed, Michelle and I enjoyed a fabulous pasta dinner Michelle managed to cook while watching Thing 1 and Thing 2. Granted, none of us made it past 11PM, but it was one of the best new year's celebrations I've had in a long time. Thank you Michelle and Connor!
