Being Silly

It's been a busy week, but I didn't want a little episode on Monday to go without remembering. Monday night was my turn to bathe Roland. Brian had poured a small bath with a TON of BUBBLES. Even after I drained it there were still fluffy mounds of bubbles (new bubble bath, we're learning.) So while I am scrubbing down Rols he starts decorating me with left-over bubbles, which of course is silly, and then he starts washing my hair, face, arms, anything he can reach that I have extended into the tub to wash him - with bubbles. It was so much fun, and surprisingly he was really gentle and very thorough with the bubble coverage (everywhere!) I was so tickled that Roland felt comfortable enough in our relationship to be silly with me, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. And it was the greatest feeling in the world. We both had to be rinsed by the end, and he's getting better and better about hosing himself off, and me at times! What a compliment to your relationship with a child when they know they can be silly with you!
