Hm...Either Way, A Good Time

This photo is the best example of Throop family vacations - not always how we planned it - but it always works out in the end. These binoculars were a huge hit with Roland. I think they are Evan's, but he loved them and was constantly searching for bald eagles.

We are so grateful for the weekend retreat to my parents house in NC, everyone had a wonderful time. We had an easy drive over, got to see Mike/Potsie and kids, Uncle Michael T (who brought Roland a football he adores), and Tim Roberts, who was inappropriate but loving as usual. The house was a perfect retreat and mom had the place in great shape for us. (Thanks Nana!) Roland and I drew a bit on my wall, I got to sleep in my bed with Aria - which was a TRIP! And best of all, we loaded up on good cheap wine! We took tons of walks around the circle and enjoyed many views of the lake and mountains. I also got some quality time in the New Morning Gallery and we enjoyed the WNC Nature Center with Roland in Asheville. It was SO quiet over there and the stars were so bright, it truly is a oasis of calm once you turn in the drive. We're ready to move as soon as we hit the lottery.

Good news! We avoided the enormous rock slide that closed I-40 and enjoyed a picturesque drive on I-70 over the mountains. Thanks Grandpa Bob! See some photos here, though I have more to come....
