3 and 1

Tonight, after Brian feel asleep on the couch waiting for me to come downstairs from putting Aria to bed, we settled into the kitchen for my birthday. And while we apparently can't celebrate anyone's birthday in front of Roland ("It's mmmmmyyyyy birthday?!" - super-whinny-voice) Brian had baked a batch of wonderful brownies to celebrate - hiding them in the microwave from our celebration-stealing-son. When does he find the time? How lucky am I? Very. With a 3 and 1 candle reminding me how very real this page turning birthday was, I leaned in to blow out the candles and make my wish. I realized that on this birthday I have a three year old and a one year old, give-or-take. Who would have thought? All my wishes had already come true.

I was showered with wonderful well-wishes and happy birthday's today - so many so I'm humbled to think that many people care! I think the sweetest gifts I got today were: waking up with Aria giving me kisses, knowing my mom was the one calling at 7am to sing me happy birthday - being excited to answer it, a call from my brother in South Carolina, my sister in Dyersburg, my Dad in Texas, Chip's call at 4:37 (and M's a little later on), knowing Michelle and Steve were A-OK, my walk tonight with the family, Brian singing me happy birthday, and most amazing - my first birthday card from my two children. Amazing.

Thanks everyone. I love you! El
