Nashville Zoo

Hi Dad,

It's me, Roland. I was really, really good for Mom at the zoo today. I made good decisions. We saw monkeys and fish and goats and camels and we couldn't ride the merry-go-round because mom didn't have any money and I dropped my hot dog and I saw some snakes and I rode in the stroller and Will Gowan was there and I got to go down this huge slide in the play ground and I saw a King Julian and I got to ride on a see-saw and I carried the map and I pushed the stroller and I heard some music and I touched a butterfly and I really liked the alligators and I like the fish tanks...(Mom here, I'm transcribing, it's hard to keep up!) I saw some birds and the monkey's were really loud and we stood on one leg like the flamingos and I'll talk to you later. BYE.

Hi Dad,

It's me, Aria. It was a great day to visit the zoo, the weather was perfect. I really enjoyed the meerkats and alligators, but the real treat was the Unseen World exhibit admiring the fish and coral reef tanks. Those would have to be my favorite thing to explore at the moment. Plus it was one of the few times I was allowed out of the stroller to roam. It was also the Harvest celebration at the historic home on the grounds. We enjoyed touring the gardens, learning from local vendors, seeing the comparisons between then and now and hearing some nice music performed by a modest collection of musicians. We also got to play in the massive play ground area. I like the blue mat jump area, and I did a long slide with Roland and Mom, but it is exhausting trying to keep up with Roland. Think Jennifer Connoly in the movie Labyrinth trying to rescue her brother only every time she spots him he's in a different, unreachable place. Ah, David Bowie. Mom's been listening to classic rock lately. I miss your Sirius radio. She's so old. And that phone, gasp! Mom is presently weening me off formula so I'm only drinking water at the moment. I'm confident she'll cave to my demands. Roland has only done one timeout today for inappropriately hitting me with the doll comb. He insisted on trying to brush my hair. Sigh. I miss you. I know you are working hard and I hope that today went well for you on the job. Glad to hear you've gotten to spend some quality time touring New Orleans. Bring me back something if you're so inclined. Your Peanut, Love, Aria.
