All summer, and now fall, I was hoping we'd get to see the Chihuly blown glass exhibit out at Cheekwood. Now I'm a lucky girl, but getting to see the art installations, combined with a Mexican festival, with delicious food, and some of our best friends, for free, and you've got the luckiest people I know.
Chihuly was perfect, and I am glad Annie let me know the night show wasn't critical. The day display was beautiful. Roland didn't touch one piece and was generally interested, as was Aria, in all of it. Brian and I decided we should get a piece someday. We love blown glass and seem to find a Chihuly exhibit every where we travel. Except Dyersburg. We should work on that.
Mixed with this awesome show is a great festival, full of tons of crafts and activities for the kids, and even better, delicious food.
I was supposed to take photos of Markana's company, Karla's, but once she put food in my hands I put the camera down... sorry about that!
Seriously though, all homemade and soooooo goooooood.
Roland devoured his first-ever churo. I mean, eyes closed and everything.
The one-and-only Miss Stella, so stinking cute!
Aria really enjoyed the mariachi music!
Karla and Markana making everyone REALLY happy.
Roland and I made some spooky mask.
Roland likes to lean into the camera lens in the sun light because he can see his reflection...doofus.
Stella doing a happy dance!
Roland called it seaweed. I wish all seaweed looked this good.
Believe it or not, I'm holding Roland up with my arms with Aria on my back.
We had an AWESOME time and Roland was passed out by the time we got to Harding road! Thanks Markana for the hook-up to see Cheekwood and delicious Karla's empanadas!
