Love My Sibs

So fair warning, I've got around 10 posts in my head I'll be dumping out in the next couple days. With tons of photos and stories. I wish I could say the exercise of writing frees up space in my mind, thus sparing you from long winded posts, but you all know that's a lie. My brain, it never seems to stop. Time management of my brain has always been an issue (just heard an exacerbated sigh from Bellevue).

Regardless, this photo makes me so incredibly happy. My brothers (and me and my sis) have some pretty remarkable skills when it comes to athleticism. (Thanks parents!) Each of us have some natural gifts of sport, but Calen seems to retain this freak ability to jump - flat footed mind you - over just about anything. The great thing about my family is we have these ridiculous traditions, such as Calen jumping over the couch. I finally got a good photo of it this Thanksgiving, with Jen grinning in the background and Ari completely oblivious to the magic happening beside her. I took just one shot, and that's all it took.

I love the story that this photo tells: a knitted blanket by our Nana my Mom recently found, the cue ball waiting to be salvaged from the side pocket. Mom's mass of Mac computers charging on the counter, Calen's beer precariously close to them. The rug skewed from Nash and Roland's rampages around the den, piles of pillows and blankets, all things that are wonderfully "home".

Kudos to Calen, for not hitting the ceiling with his head and still, after all these years, managing to jump the couch. Till the next jump. El

I don't know how he misses hitting the ceiling. He seriously loves the challenge-over the couch, under the ceiling, abrupt stop before he hits the furniture (and especially not hitting his beer!)
