Tucking her in tonight she was a squirmy mess and I said aloud,
"Aria, it's bed time. Settle down and get some sweet dreams."
Roland answered from the bottom bunk,
"Mom, you know Aria's a baby and she can't say words. She doesn't know any."
"Yes Roland, I know, but she understands what I am telling her, and someday soon she'll be able to say words."
"Yeah, like 'dog' and 'boy'."
I thought those were strange choices, but I'm not a three year old. She can say Mom, Dad, No (really, really well), Go, Dog and grunts for everything else, but she's not made any identifying sound for Roland. That should be an interesting revelation.
