Easter Egg Hunt

Every year the school does a great job of organizing an Easter egg hunt for the kids. It takes the pressure off of having to track down one in the community. Besides the school hunt, we got really lucky with our next door neighbor, Audrey, having an Easter egg hunt birthday party on the Saturday before Easter. We merely had to walk across the street for the egg-stravaganza. The kids first decorated their own bags - fun - and then prepped for the hunt. Aria and the other littles hunted (OK, leisurely walked around) in the front yard gathering a total of four eggs. Brava! Roland, overseen by Brian, hunted with the big kids in the backyard. He had a blast and was really good at it!

Much to Brian and I's surprise, when Roland returned to proudly present his full bag of eggs.

And every one of them was blue. Every. One. Not a single egg of a different color. Different sizes, different shades, but all blue. And he was so proud. We just stood there, mouths agape. And we didn't say a word. Brian and I are very careful not to through around labels, but we'll be the first to admit we are a touch, maybe more than a touch, both a bit particular as people when it comes to order, patterns, etc. so we can't say this behavior is terribly surprising. And really, there's nothing wrong with it. It was just surprising. Ah well. He is our son.

Aria, always stylish, showing off her shades enjoying pushing around the tricycle. She was very well behaved and really seemed to enjoy herself. She tried to learn how to roll down the hill...but she basically just took a knee and watched.

Roland tried out the big wheel and learned it is big fun. Tough to share, and I don't blame him, but everyone took turns. I was lucky to snap such a truthful shot of his total glee riding this beauty down the hill. Thanks Audrey and happy birthday!
