Summer Thunderstorms
Last Thursday night the kids and I ran a quick errand to Providence. The weather was really nice, with perfect evening temperatures for driving with all the windows down. Aria, Roland and I slipped into a nice quite trance driving home enjoying the wind.
As we got close to the house we saw the sunset working some mother-nature-magic on the clouds. Giant plumes of cumulonimbus clouds erupted high in the atmosphere with lower slung stratus and altostratus clouds whisking by at lower levels.
What was really stunning to watch was looking past the fast moving stratus clouds closest to us, up into the cumulonimbus clouds that looked like they were almost growing.
So while the kids and I are admiring the clouds out front, ironically Brian is out back with the dogs doing the same thing. When he hears us enter the house he asks me if I've seen the clouds. I love that, when we overlap.
I show him the shots I quickly snapped on my camera.
You have to love the magic of summer weather. Unexpected, unpredictable, and most often, unimaginable.
Enjoy!
