August 15, 2011 (Finally coming around!)

(Please stop growing so fast!)
Roland and Aria had an AWESOME first day back at school. They were greeted by mobs of enthusiastic friends and loving teachers. Each had stellar reports and had tons of stories to share. Roland gave me a personal tour of the new play ground - which is fantastic! (He wants Brian to build one like it in our backyard) It's going to be a great year and we are so happy to be back at GLDS with our parenting partners and great friends. (Dave, Rachel, Micah, Jill, Sherry, Debbie and more!) When we pulled out of the parking lot, Roland asked, "When do I get to come back?" I enthusiastically replied, "Tomorrow!"
Yes, schools cost money and good schools often cost more. (Nor are they always conveniently in your neighborhood or work commute.) But there's something to be said for investing into the most important asset you have. Equally, by investing the best of yourself as a parent into a school, there's the added benefit of seeing it pay out in abundance of love for your kids. And that is pretty remarkable. When we opened the doors on Friday for our parent teacher conference the corridor came alive with choruses of I-missed-you, please-give-me-a-hug, look-how-big-you've-grown, and so on. It took 15 minutes just to hug and greet all the wonderful people who invest the best of themselves each day into our kids.
So I know they are just barely 2 and just a bit past 4, but it gives us great comfort to know that if they can't be with us, they are surrounded by people who love them just as much. Here's to another great year with our GLDS family!
