It's the night before Halloween and all through the house...it smells good! So I know I've still got to put the finishing touches on Roland's train prop for his engineer costume, but I have to take a moment and tell all the world (or the four people who read along) about my success with the Halloween party treats for daycare tomorrow! The teachers are a bit burnt on cupcakes and since the party is right before nap time they gave me the challenge of something small, sweet, but not too sugary. I have to give the lovely Layton props for sharing this simple idea her mom has perfected over the years: witch hats. My twist was instead of chocolate kisses glued with icing to chocolate cookies I opted for chocolate covered strawberries glued with peanut butter to Cadbury's Divestes cookies (thin wafer with chocolate top). And all and all - it was super easy! 15 minutes tops to make the 11 necessary for the kids! To get fancy I mixed chocolate icing and peanut butter together to make a lighter decorator, piled it into a plastic sandwich bag and got crazy pipping little designs on the hats! What can I say, it's a sickness in me. So how will they taste? Who knows. Will they even get eaten? If not by the kids I'll hang around and finish them off! I'm so excited! (Photos Here)
The bit about the chop sticks is that Roland refused to eat his dinner tonight and I was having some sushi from Publix. I finally deciphered his speech and realized he wanted to eat with chop sticks too. Who cares! Just eat! And then he made a mess...sorry honey!
Lastly, since I know tomorrow will be crazy with trying to get home and hand out candy I made dinner ahead of time, hence the mummy dogs. I know Roland will probably shred these to bits and just eat the bread but the idea was fun and someday he'll be old enough to enjoy the crazy things I do. Can't help it, I love him so much!

The mummy dogs were too cute! I'm sooo not creative. I tried to click on the link for the photos from the party, but it said it wasn't found! Roland is such a cutie!
