A little background...I'm all about celebrating whenever it feels good. Which means I celebrate my birthday for the entire month of April, I celebrate each month birthday of Roland's life, and all holidays, etc can be enjoyed weeks before and weeks after. Hence it's Nov.2, Roland's 19 month birthday and two days AFTER Halloween and we're still dressing up in the dragon-lizard costume. (ROAR!) I'm lucky that Roland's not old enough to protest my bizarre behavior and Brian's kind enough to indulge me. We had a great Halloween but I didn't get any pictures (good ones anyway) of his costume(s) so I'll have to stage a photo shoot later. (Be prepared for more Halloween photos next weekend...) We did enjoy a great day of trick or treating at day school, a fun Halloween themed lunch party and passed out candy at home. We had some lovely guests - the Flanagan's - to keep us company and a whopping 40 trick-or-treaters. The movement to mall events and church parking lots could be really felt this year! Oh well! It was great sitting in the door way waiting for treaters and watching Rols retreat behind the glass window when scary costumes approached. At one point he stepped in front of me and said "no" to a trick-or-treater. Don't mistake this as bravery, (sigh) he didn't want this little girl to get any of the candy. We need to make some play dates with some lady friends. Here's to next year and learning to share!
