Roland has been fairly shy towards Aria. Not curious or jealous. Not frustrated or fascinated. Just reserved. All questions about her directed to him have been ignored, requests for him to acknowledge, touch, hold, etc. have been dismissed. We were confident that in time, his toddler time, he'd come around. Yesterday evening I was holding Aria reading a book to Roland and he asked to hold her. I held my breath, finished the book and then positioned the Boppy, placing a sleeping Aria in his lap. It lasted just about 30 seconds, but he looked at her, announced that she was his sister and therefor best friend, and then requested I pick her back up again. Reflecting, his actions are wise, and I'm proud of his strength to tell us 'no thanks' and his courage to do it when he was ready.
As stated in the title, the moment for Brian and I was pretty incredible, our two children had their first real interaction!

Cole didn't have much to do w/ Ella until she started crawling. Now, he absolutely LOVES his sister! Of course, they still fight but I just love seeing how much they love each other! I always think back to when she was just a week or so old and Cole said, "So, when is she going back in you belly?" I was a bit worried then!
