Thoughts I wanted to capture:
This morning Aria woke us up (we weren't actually sleeping) around 5:30AM blowing raspberries in her crib. She's swaddled like a little burrito staring up at the ceiling making blowing noises...of all types...drowning in a shower of spray...for 10 mins! Brian tried, but he just couldn't contain the chuckle. We haven't needed an alarm clock for a couple years, so as far as wake-ups go this was a fun one. At 6:04 Roland came in with a book and a truck asking us to read to him...turns out I can't read before 6:30! (We've enjoyed beautiful sunrises all week long, with all the fireplace/exhaust plumes decorating the horizon.)
Roland's vocab is 100% in tact - with very little he CAN'T say or repeat - but he's been cracking me up with how he organizes things. I bent down and scooped him up in a hug, but didn't stand and he told me to "Pick you up mom." "You mean, stand up?" "Yes, stand you up mom." Eh... he also says "lellow" for yellow, and it is super cute.
Later, when I was "working" (pumping) Roland wanted to touch my pump and I asked him not to. Undeterred he asked me for my hand, pulled my hand down to the pump, pulled out my index finger and pushed the buttons. I had to laugh because technically he wasn't touching the pump! I went along with it because I was fascinated by his creative work-around from my request. He wasn't actually disobeying me...
And finally, we keep a routine that Roland has to sit on the toilette before every bath, much to his protest. Tonight, when the last item was removed from his body, and the bubble bath waiting, Mr. Slick literally dove in the tub to avoid having to sit on the toilette. Neither Brian nor I were in a position to grab him before he hopped over the side into the bubbles with a very knowing smile...smarty pants.
