I digress, Amish bread came into our office and after my first failed attempt (timing didn't work out) I summoned my courage and took another bag from someone who didn't just poke their bag. For those of you who've never heard of the Amish friendship bread in a bag, it's like chain-mail meets peer-pressure mixed with Betty Crocker. Everyone knows I'm no whiz in the kitchen - unless it's breakfast - so maybe the bread wouldn't be that hard? I will tell you this, true to my nature, I just like the "squeeze the bag" days. I don't actually want to make the bread, eat it - yes, but for the most part I am just infatuated with the chemical reactions going on in the bag. I love letting the air out and watching it bubble. It's like a science experiment where you don't have to report on anything!
Of course I didn't have all the ingredients, and measuring isn't my strong suit, but it will probably work out just fine in the end. Meanwhile, Roland and I practiced teamwork, patience, keeping our hands to ourselves and asking to touch things. I didn't have the right size pans, and who knows why it called for vanilla pudding? Didn't have any of that, but there seems to be a ton of sugar and other yummy things so who knows? I'll post an update if it doesn't explode in the oven.
And no, I didn't have the right size bags so I just let that batter go, we'll see if anyone wants the remaining two cups of my concoction. :)
Update: It's edible! However, this is an over-glorified cake batter...at best. Yummy!
