I had the supreme luxury of taking a day off to be with Aria at home while Brian is out of town. I am so lucky to have a job where I can occasionally do this, and thankful in so many ways my work is so understanding and supportive. It was a great day. The BEST TUESDAY that I can remember. And although Ari got up at 5:45, and Rols joined us shortly after, it was still wonderful just the three of us tucked in under the covers, with the snow falling outside, watching some Tom and Jerry. Roland informed me afterwards, he would like "Biscuits and eggs for breakfast. In my house." which totally cracked me up that my little man mistook me for a short-order cook and put emphasis on "in my house" as it appears we go out for those types of meals. Whatever! The morning was easy, drop off = successful. Aria and I enjoyed the fine, fine company of our good friends Stella and Markana, returning home to play, snuggle and nap until time to get Roland. We took care of our errands beforehand so that on the way home: Chick-fa-le (sp?) They have a deal that Tuesday night is kids eat free night with an adult meal. So between the super-clean indoor play area, great food brought to and set up on your table while you play, a mad scientist presentation - you would have thought we were at an organized birthday party. There were even balloons for all the kids to take home! Getting Roland out of the play area was like that gopher game at an arcade. He just kept appearing and then disappearing. I finally staked out a spot where if he came down the slide I was behind him...and waited. He popped out and I snatched him up before he could protest. A helpful parent threw open the door! Sure, we had some moments of crying and negotiation, but it was a super fun time. And. He. Ate. His. Dinner. Like a champ. Granted, there was a dry ice demo so I could have told him to eat rocks and he probably would have done it just to go see the mad scientist. Tonight the kids were great. Just great! We had a great time! I'm just speechless! (Well, not really...you know me.) Everyday we are given 24 hours to make the most of it!
Enjoy photos from today and this weekend :)
