(For those afraid of mud, look away.)
Year One: Not happy.
Year Two: Getting into it.
Keeping his britches on.
Waiting for the cleanup committee.
Roland turned to his friend Sanders and gave him a high-five pat to the back.So I know you are thinking, "Ew. Mud?" But each year at school this is a rite of passage where the kids get to experience mud and being muddy. And being kids. These photos are proof that while it is strange, to some, it is great for the kids. I love it! (Note, the kids are cleaned and put into a fresh pair of clothes.) Afterwards, that little batch of mud is replenished with some dirt (much of which Roland carried home in his pants) and each class plants a row of flowers and vegetables.
Hooray Mud Day!

ok, that is hysterical - all of it! I especially LOVE the hand print that Roland left on his friends back - classic!
