Matryoshka Dolls

Aria likes stacking, so naturally, she loves stacking, opening, closing and unstacking these Russian nesting dolls. Especially on a rainy Saturday afternoon while her brother naps.

I wish I could say that I have been to Russia, someday, but I won these dolls at a company event at Tony's. I was really excited because I think they are marvelous to examine and really beautiful. Who knew they'd be such fun for my kids?

What fascinates me now is how Roland wasn't as patient as Aria is at this age, but seeing her explore these things makes him want to re-explore them, which gives me an opportunity to teach him about them.

Meanwhile, Aria is the prettiest doll of all.
