| We both were so excited to see each other and be there...we forgot to stretch! This is us at 7:30 AM on a Saturday, sexy eh? |
Kristi is such a good friend, she found the race, kept on me to enter, helped me know where to go and most importantly, reminded me of my DL so I could get a beer at the end! Can't wait for next year and our next race!
 |
| Probably 1 or so in, having fun! |
For the record, it is really fun to start a couple minutes back in the pack, you feel great as you pass people pretty much the whole race. And that lady walking? She just started walking so you feel extra fast past those people! Yay ego boost!
 |
| Not bad for not training, 32 mins. Can't wait to get in shape and run another one! |
 |
| 34 mins (*wink) - another happy runner! Great job Krisit! |

| Special props to Matt Fruedenthal for being our photographer for the day. Our GS&P team placed 2nd overall in the corporate challenge, I think that's good? |
Post race with beer, Team GS&P: Me, Roland, Joe Cotter, some dude, Brad King, Tim Rucker, and Mickey Sullivan. Afterwards Roland, Brian, Aria and I enjoyed some Polka music (yes!), some more beer (yum) and some kid entertainment including free pony rides! Roland was the happiest little dude there.

I hate to point this out, rather than be supportive of you effort, but the clock states 35:18 yet you claim 32mins. Just sayin.
Great effort though! Roland sure looks proud of you!
Dear Calen,
Since you haven't run a race, to my knowledge, you don't know about the chip you secure to your shoe that starts when you cross the start and captures when you reach the end. Thus I started 3 mins after the gun sounded the start. This was a narrow start chute and a pretty deep group of folks. Roland looks like he is pissed there is no beer in his mug.
Love you,
El
Great job! I have done this a few times and it is so rewarding crossing the finish line - I swear to myself that one of these days I am going to get back into shape and do it again!
