Roland's Surgery

Tomorrow Roland will have surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids.

Roland can't breathe at night. He has horrible sleep apnea and snores like a 95 year old man. The surgery is safe and simple, but the recovery is long and hard. There's no cast this time, and I just hope I can take some of the pain away. There's nothing worse than knowing tomorrow, and for many days to come, your baby will hurt, bad. He still fits in my arms, so that's a good thing.

I'll post when I have a chance to let you know how it's going. Thanks everyone for your encouraging words.

Ellie, Brian - Amelia had the surgery at three and, to our surprise, her recovery was quick and relatively painless. She was eating pancakes the day after in the hospital with no complaints. I hope the procedure was as smooth for little Roland and for you guys as it was for us. Suffice to say, however, that any pain we had to watch Amelia endure during/after the surgery (and had to endure with her), was all quickly assuaged by the instant, peaceful sleep she began to experience soon thereafter.

Good Luck! Speedy recovery!
