We had a pretty special MLK day on Monday: Connor came to visit! What a treat, the whole day with our favorite 3 year old!
Seeing them side-by-side in car seats in my rear view mirror was pretty awesome. Squished in, rocking along to the radio, wiggling with excitement. We played. And played. And played. Taking breaks to practice spreading with knives we made peanut butter bagel bird feeders:
Connor also got completely comfortable with our petting zoo. After determining who licks and who doesn't, he enjoyed playing and throwing balls to the crew. He even fed them, which apparently is a ton more food than his cats eat, and highly entertaining because as he put it, "Buddy is so excited!" Buddy does a Ringling-Brother's circus audition for his meal twice a day.
And after naps, where Connor and Roland slept on opposite ends of the lower bunk, closed in by blackout blankets - known to them as their space ship - we made cookies. We practiced pinching and using our fingers to make the balls. Aria just practiced smearing and eating:
I saved the caps as the reward for not eating any cookie dough till all cookies were on the tray. And of course, I over cooked them. We were out back playing with the dogs and hanging our bird feeders...
Lured the boys back in with a cookie picnic prepared by Roland in the living room. Cracks me up that this is how they positioned themselves at the table:
Our shaggy crew. Michelle is letting Connor's hair grow out because she's stylish. I'm letting Roland's because I'm lazy. :)
Pretty awesome end to an awesome day! Connor said he'd like to come back and spend the night, we whole-heartedly agree, we love you Connor-man!
Rest up and heal well Steve, we're looking forward to seeing you soon!
