Introducing Girl Scout Cookies

Quick funny. I bought three boxes of Girl Scout cookies: Samoas, Thin Mints and Do-si-dos. These boxes are representative of our marriage: Samoas - all mine, Thin Mints - shared caloric heaven, Do-si-dos - squirreled away in a hiding place by Brian. However, this year we introduced them to the kids as after dinner treats. (Just one per person, per night mind you.)

Last night Brian told the kids that Do-si-dos were the worst, least desirable cookie of the three so Roland chose to try a Samoa and Aria, a Thin Mint. Nice strategy on his part to protect his cookies. Tonight, Brian discovered he'd opened the box late, late, last night (*snicker) and done some damage to his Do-si-do rations. With a heavy sigh he informed Roland that these were indeed the best cookies in the world of Girl Scout cookies, made only once a year and very, very special. While listening to this speech I'm enjoying a Samoa, Aria a Thin Mint, and Roland is waiting, with gigantic eyes and the biggest smile as Brian gives him one of his beloveds.

Cue Aria bursting into tears, with a saliva-chocolate-and-mucus-covered hand out-stretched, offering up a half-eaten Thin Mint, reaching desperately with the other hand for a Do-si-do. Brian accepts the trade and Aria is elated. This is where he remarks how perceptive Aria is at understanding what we say, and that he has totally and completely failed to make this box of cookies last.

Aria tries it, places it on the mat and opts for a Samoa instead. I think she has awesome taste. Just like her Mom and Nana!

However, no matter what your last name is - cookies rule! What is your favorite Girl Scout cookie?
