While out for a walk in the stroller, we passed a pile of dog poop (ew...) in the road. Roland said, "Dad, pick up poop." to which Brian replied, "Nope, just in our backyard." I laughed very, very hard.
Eating BBQ turkey sandwiches tonight Brian looked over and said, "Roland, don't put your sandwich in your ear."
Brian and Roland have been playing the drums lately, and learning to share, as both want to play. I overheard "Who's drums are these? These are Dad's drums. It's my turn to play." which was quickly responded to with, "No Dad, these are Roland's drums. My turn." It was a quick glimpse into the future and I told Brian he needed to practice sharing his toys better.
Clever as always, "I'll hold you." Which is incredibly endearing and a perfect way to prolong the bedtime routine. Yes, sometimes we're suckers.
And a new favorite phrase, "I'll try it." Usually applied to driving, as he feel extremely confident that he can. Especially bulldozers. :)
We enjoyed catching lightening bugs tonight out back, something that is magical at dusk in the first of summer. Brian explained "They're bugs with night-lights in their tushy's."
