Tonight I got home just in time to enjoy some quality time with Roland: watching the end of a Scooby Doo mystery and reading some books before bed. As usual, Roland always wants "One more book." which isn't surprising to hear, but when I told him we'd read all the books for the night and it was time to go to bed, he decided to tell me all about his day. The vocabulary switch has definitely flipped. So for the next 15 or so minutes Roland told me all about his day, what he plans to do tomorrow, how he can open doors, that he plans on playing with Connor at school tomorrow, and a whole host of other things I couldn't quite understand but could tell from the sentence structure and hand gestures was directed completely at me and required my close attention. It's strange how seldom I am consumed by something and pay extremely close attention, but it's always that way with him. I just can't get enough! It was amazing, and Brian and I marvel at it each and every day. How did we get here so soon? How did that time go so fast?
And when did he figure out what "tomorrow" is? Of all the parenting advice I've ever asked for, will someone please tell me how to freeze these moments forever?
