Slight Snow

Just a slight inch or so fell the other night. Roland wanted to go out in his boots, so naturally Aria did too. I dug up our winter best and we lumbered outside for about 10 minutes before sprinting back into the warm indoors. We are supposed to get a decent amount tonight, but you never know. Either way, we're ready!

By we're ready we mean that we've got plenty of food, games, and movies picked out for tomorrow and the car windshields covered with towels.

Aria instinctively was trying to catch it on her tongue and mittens. Pretty cute.
Roland was more impressed with the build up on the cars.

It was soft, sticky snow. The kind that melts in an hour, which is the best kind.

Brian showing off how you could 'ski' down the street on the ice. That's the only challenge about where we live. If you can't get up easily out of the cul de sac, you've likely never make it past the three major hills to reach the main roads. Ah well, hope everyone has a good Monday regardless of the weather.

(A quick note for prosperity: We attempted to go to the boat show on Saturday but Roland was such a little **** that we refused to go thus teaching him a lesson. Argh. Having scraped our plans Michelle and Steve graciously called and lured us - with one simple question, "Would you like a change in scenery?" Uh, yes - to their house to watch football and enjoy Steve's great chili. Kristi and Jack ventured out and it was a grand old time as usual. Nothing beats cheering on a football game sandwiched in with your nearest and dearest while the kids play perfectly. A small victory for Brian and I when we overheard Roland telling Connor, "I didn't get to go to the boat show today because I was acting bad and making bad decisions." Touchdown! We had a much better Sunday and met up with the ever-so-fabulous Phillip (and Darrin), and cool man Connor to run a muck over every square inch of that show. Phillip literally was squealing with delight and the boys commanded attention gleefully sprinting down the carpet, sturdy little legs climbing aboard the big boats. They stole the show, and then took monster good naps that afternoon! Brian and I have picked out a humble pontoon boat we'll be purchasing in the year 2020!)
